Hey man, I am recovering from a broken ankle aquired when I was roofing a house and very ungracefully fell off. (that said to assure you I don't sit around skimming blogs all day)

Skimming your blog I couldn't believe there were no comments. I couldn't read everything, I've been studying constitutional law today. After that kind of reading, my eyes couldn't possibly handle much more.

It must have been exciting to see the world as you have. As I said, I didn't read your whole blog. Why/how are you able to travel so extensively for so long?

One of the things that cought my eye is that you are Australian. ie, one of the reasons I'm posting.
I am in the Army, Infantry, and just got back from a somewhat boring(in comparison to Iraq) deployment to Bosnia. After months of policing around the city of Zvornic, and being surrounded by slavic speaking people, I just about shit myself when a guy passing by looked up at me in my gunner seat and said, "you look a little tense there mate!" Wow, imagine my shock. So I had a nice half hour chat with this dood from australia. He had been born in Bosnia, but was taken by family to Australia at child birth.
Thats my two cents. Take care.

Ouch, bugger! That would of hurt.. And hang on, studying constitutional law? Mate thats sounds like a lot of detail. As for traveling so much? Short version, born and bred outback mining town, huge country.. spent most of my early 20s visiting it. Saved for several years and took off on maybe once in a lifetime trips in 2002,2003 and 2004. You've only got one life, you have to live it and I be damed. I gave it a fair crack.

It all depends on how you want to travel too? If you're under 31 you can get working visa's in various countries and go to them for upwards of a year. Budget for 50 bucks aussie a day, work out how long you'll go last for.

I've done various different methods of travel. If you are a a people person, then backpacking is for you. Budget 50-60 aussie dollars a day. Stay in hostel/backpacking joints. Meet tons of people and you 'll learn, that you can travel to any part of the world find a backpackers/hostel within 2 days, you should have at least made some friends and enjoy what that part of the world has to offer. so many people travel on their own..

save and enjoy!

Ya, it hurt at the time. I am all recovered. My boss retired, so no more job. I'm studying law enforcement actually, hope to be a cop in the next year or so.

I'm married so the chances of touring the world are slimm(er). But she's an adventureous gal, so who knows.

I wish I would have done something like that before I got married. Oh well, no regrets.
Sorry to hear about the bad hair day. You seem to be the kind of guy that rolls with the punches. A good way to be.
I get the sneaking suspision that the only parts of Europe I'll see anytime soon are the war-torn(I'm getting deployed to Iraq in 2006)

You are right you only have one life, use it wisely.
See you around.
