A few things backpacking has taught me!

One of the main things, I've learnt, That within 2 days at any backpackers in the world, any city, place or time. You will meet and greet people and begin to share stories, travels, laughters, ups and downs with people.I truely believe this is open to everyone out there in this big bad world. So don't let anything hold you back.

A simple hello, g'day, nod of the head will get things started. I think its a really cool, way to live and travel. That you could end up in paris, london, new york, melbourne, hell even mount isa and end up sharing trip of a life time, well in mount isas case, maybe you got lost? LOL!

Most of my travels before were via, hotels/motels etc.. So get out there and don't let the fact you are on ya own hold you back from travelling. All you need is a bed to sleep, a place to store your stuff and a few travel friends to experience the world..

And the fact you might have a partner, doesn't have to stop you either. Ok, if you've been married a few years, have a few kids and want that romantic trip, this might not be an option, unless you are swedish? Though I am not really sure, what that really means in the end.

And yes, I know I am wearing a new zealander shirt. I Had/have 20 or so nation rugby/sport shirts I bought I my around the world trip. Lead to some interesting encounters. And me trying to use alot of crappy accents. Hey, as long as ya having fun, right?

Martin's Pic, before I forget..

Tragic times at the friendly backpackers. Groups splitting up. Here we have martin, long hair front left. Group of misfits the rest of them, expect that guy in the south african shirt. So here is the pic of martin: The v for victoria, I think? LOL!

Martin's Travel Blogs... mate from melbourne.

Martin's Web Blog:

Here is martin, loves his music, developed some skills in the art of dolphin and shark hunting. (long story).

Short verions how we met. Arrived in Melbourne, moved around a bit. Ended up in the friendly backpackers, met martin in my room. He's only 18, well just turned 19 from memory. We shared a few stories, met a few of his mates and had a few drinks. Went to a few rock club/bars with him in melbourne. He met this irish girl, one night where we had gone to the green house backpackers. the sister Backpackers to the friendly backpacker. They had on a free BBQ.

At any rate, We all left him alone at the table to get our food. On the way back, there was martin and this mid 20s irish lass, chatting away. But with all us rough talking, hungry blokes come charging up, she took off. We all thought he was in...

Couple weeks go by, myself and canadian phil are in brunswick street, trendy area of melbourne. few drinks, dancing, checking out the scene, when by chance and without me knowing, we run into the very irish girl that had been chating to martin. Once phil, pointed this out to me and I came to my senses, I started to paint the picture, how in demand martin was. She was playing the, "I'm dead sexy irish lass, why should I care?" front. I shrugged my shoulders, said something to the effect of, well martins got it all happening, be a shame to let some silly little attitude get in the way, but if you are too busy, no doubt martin would have to juggle to much to fit you in.. Maybe if we just swapped numbers and you guys could work it out later? She shook her head, whipped out a little note book, with her email and cell number and handed it too me. I laughed "What you have a whole book full of your details?" She said no, but the effect of creating that martin was a high mountain, that needed to be climbed!! Made her come in charging.

Later on his phone buggered up, so he used mine to set up the date and where to go out. They had a nice couple of days. At any rate, I just wanted him to be real busy so I could play with his ipod!!!
